Growing up, I was taught that the best way to make the world a little better is to use your natural talents. After more than 35 years as a bio-organic chemist, I understood what mine was: creating products that don't just solve a problem, but solve it in a healthier, more natural way.

For years, the problem I kept circling back to was nail polish. The more I learned about what hides in everyday nail products — and the toll that gels and acrylics can take on the natural nail — the more determined I became to create a genuine alternative: one that performed like those artificial systems, but looked after your nails instead of working against them.

In 2007, I did just that. I built Dazzle Dry from the ground up — a proprietary four-step system of Nail Prep, Base Coat, Lacquer and Top Coat. Colour that air-dries hard in five minutes and stays chip-resistant for seven days or more, with no UV lamp and no soak-off. Free from harsh chemicals and endocrine disruptors, vegan, and never tested on animals. I'd never found anything that did all of it at once — so I made it myself.

Today, more than 20,000 nail professionals around the world reach for the system I first mixed at my lab bench — and so do the people who simply want salon-quality nails on their own time, at home, in minutes.
